Friday Night Facial

November 12, 2005

Hey Bloggers. Have you ever gotten a facial? I got my first tonight and it was amazing. There is a place called Athena Beauty Institute in Niagara Falls. Sherry, my counsellor told me about it and about Rita, the owner. She is a very smart woman. She’s won many awards for her knowledge on skin care and beauty and even won a trip to Paris, France. She imports all of her products from Paris and Italy (she’s Italian) and doesn’t sell anything that she’s never tried out herself. Mom bought me a cleanser — Rita says I have very sensitive skin and I need to throw all the products my dermatologist prescribed me away — and some cream for my face. Apparently it lasts an entire year, which is great considering it costs fifty bucks. Rita also gave us tons of free samples (I love free samples) of creams and make-up. She sells a French make-up line, Sothy’s is the name, I think. She gave Mom and I some samples of the foundation and it felt amazing when she put it on my hand to test. It’s so silky and soft, as well as matte. Rita says it won’t clog my pores and that it’s a great foundation because it’s matte. It costs forty bucks, though, so I don’t think Mom or I will be buying that any time soon.
After getting my facial, Mom took me out for dinner. We went to East Side Mario’s in St. Catharines. I love that restaurant. It’s one of my favorites but I hadn’t been there in years. My family always goes to Wrigley’s Field whenever we go out for dinner, which is not often. Anyways, I was looking forward to a meal of Chicken Parmesian but once we arrived and looked over our menus, Mom and I decided that $14.99 for a plate of chicken and pasta was too much to spend, especially tonight since we spent so much money on the cream and cleanser from Rita. So I ordered a wrap. I forget what it’s called but it was good. It was chicken, tomatoes, hold the peppers, lettuce, and some sort of sauce enveloped in a big pink, yes pink, wrap. It was good but filling. I had a few fries and only half of the two wraps I got. So I asked the waitress for a box to put them in so I can eat them at lunch tomorrow. I’m quite looking forward to it!
After dinner and a quick trip to Liquidation World (Mom bought a painting for twelve bucks — what a steal), we went home. Dad hadn’t yet gotten back from Ben’s soccer game in Hamilton. Malorie wasn’t doing a very good job of babysitting because it was already 9:00pm and Megan still hadn’t been put to bed. Even though it is a Friday night. She was tired though. She started to cry and wanted to sleep in Mom and Dad’s room, and Mom didn’t agree with that. Mom also didn’t agree with Malorie’s attitude toward Megan and had a quick chat with her. I’m not sure what happened after that though. Megan and Malorie are both in bed as of right now. Dad and Ben are home, too, so I know Megan is probably in her bed.
So after the chaos of arriving home, Malorie asked me if I wanted to watch ‘The Perfect Man’ with her. I definitely wanted to see it, so I said yes and Mom told me to do some laundry first and then fold some as I watched the movie. Which I did. I am the world’s best folder. The movie was good. I don’t think Hilary Duff is a good singer but she has some definite acting skills. She’s an excellent fake-cryer, Malorie and I decided. However, I was disappointed that the movie didn’t present more face-to-face interaction between Jean and Ben. I’m sorry if you don’t understand what I am talking about. You’ll have to rent the movie to figure it out. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil the ending for you.
Now after an amazing Friday night, I have an outstandingly busy weekend ahead of me. I have two tests on Monday, science and history. Science was supposed to be today but because of the Rememberance Day assembly running about 20 minutes into first period class time, Mr. Bayne rescheduled it to Monday. So now I have to study history as well as science. Mom also said she wants me to get some housework done tomorrow. I wonder what her mental list of “Chores for Jillian” includes. Making my bed, maybe. I’ll have to find out tomorrow then. Well, wish me luck on my weekend of books and boredom. I will write if I’m not too busy!
